Making Home
 
A two-part workshop dedicated to setting. Together, we'll be inventing fictional places. Whether you're making an old caravan or a whole planet - boarding school, spaceship, or chip shop - this class will help you conjure, clearly and vividly, the home of your story.

We'll explore how to create a place on the page, including elements of atmosphere, character, detail, and scene-making. We'll read examples, discuss how they work, and experiment using prompts and exercises. Bring a completely blank canvas or, if you're already working on a story or novel, bring your setting-in-development. 
 
The class is divided into two workshops, with a fortnight's gap in between, and I'll challenge you to do some writing and experimenting in that gap so we can share it in the second half.
